About the Energy Complex in Thailand:

PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) initiated a project for the construction of the Energy Complex (EnCo) as the office buildings for PTT affiliates, energy-related companies and the Ministry of Energy, so as to save time in business communication and to boost operating efficiency.

LEED (Leadership of Energy and Environmental Design) awarded the Energy Complex with their highest level award of Platinum Green Building certification; making it the first office complex in Thailand and Southeast Asia to be awarded this certification level. The Energy Complex serves as the prototypical building in Thailand for energy conservation, harmonious coexistence of industry and the environment and optimal utilization of resources.

The Vulcan electronic mineral descalers are installed on the main return pipes of the condenser. Before the Energy Complex installed the Vulcan water mineral descalers, the building used ozone water system to treat the condenser. The ozone water system could not effectively treat and manage scaling and maintenance crews observed massive scale particles in the basin of the cooling towers. Every month scale was collected from the basin and consistently weighed about 330 Lbs.

4 months after installing the Vulcan descalers:

Vulcan descalers were added as an additional energy efficiency support solution together with the ozone system to treat the water. After only 4 months the Energy Complex has observed a significant mineral scale reduction in the cooling tower basin. The approach temperatures of the chillers have been reduced lowering energy consumption and improving overall performance.
