How The WHBB3-20 Wide Spectrum System Works
Stage 1, Model#BB-20H High Hardness Cartridge:
Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) Media, our technologically advanced salt free anti-scale media is an innovative solution that prevents scale caused by hardness (calcium and magnesium), while allowing those healthy minerals to remain. TAC acts a dosing catalyst, accelerating transformation calcium and magnesium minerals into harmless Nano particles that won’t build up scale on plumbing & appliances.


Stage 2, Model#BB-20F Fluoride Reduction Cartridge:
A proprietary blend of our patented reticulated medias. Our filters utilize stages of Calcium Based Carbon (bone char) & activated alumina, powerful adsorbent medias that selectively pull fluoride out water as it passes through the media.


Stage 3, Model#BB-20 Wide Spectrum Cartridge:
Using a combination of patented trace minerals KDF-55 (Copper-Zinc) which has been tested to NSF standard 42 and 61, high purity acid washed reticulated coconut shell carbon & micro sediment filter membranes. This powerful wide spectrum filter will remove and/or reduce chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, many types of pharmaceuticals, sediment, algae, molds, scale, bad taste, odors, and other undesirable contaminants that may effect the quality of your water supply.

How The WHBB3-20 Chloramine Wide Spectrum System Works:
Stage 1 & 3 Model#BB-20C Chloramine Wide Spectrum Cartridge:

Chloramine is alternative disinfectant us, a chemical bond of chlorine & ammonia. It requires a modified blend of our wide spectrum medias to insure consistent removal.  Our BB-20C cartridges utilize our patented reticulated KDF-85 to break the chloramine & ammonia bond , reticulated catalytic acid washed coconut shell carbon, zeolite (for the ammonia residual) & micro sediment filter membranes. This process takes time, thats why we recommend 2 stages of our chloramine wide spectrum cartridges to insure adequate contact time with the medias.

GPM: Gallons Per Minute

Standard Output: VIQUA’s standard output UV lamp. They generate less heat, but require longer system lengths and exposure time to equal the dose delivered by other lamp types. Ideal for low flow applications. Minimal maintenance costs and heat radiation; full microbiological protection.

High Output: Higher UV power output; ideal for medium to high flow applications.

Amalgam Lamp Technology: For ultimate UV output; typically needed in high flow applications or NSF Class A installations. Due to higher power requirements, it is the preferred lamp technology for light commercial applications or public facilities.

2X Lamp Life: Long life - 2X greater lamp life vs. standard and high output lamps.

2X Output: 2X greater UV-C output vs. standard low pressure lamp technology.

4X Output: 4X greater UV-C output vs. standard low pressure lamp technology.

Constant Current: Ensures stable UV lamp current regardless of power fluctuations.

Safety-Loc: A UV connector design that meets UL979 safety requirements. VIQUA connectors have a built in mechanism that breaks power to the UV lamp and prevents accidental exposure to UV light outside of the chamber.

UV Lamp: The part of the UV system that emits the 254nm germicidal wavelength of UV light. In VIQUA systems, there are 3 types of lamps: Standard Output, High Output and Amalgam.

VIQUA Standard Dose (30mJ/cm2): VIQUA’s uncompromising dose value used to compare all VIQUA systems that do not require NSF Standard 55 Class A certification. Typically used for residential systems. This has been established as an industry standard in the UV water treatment industry.

Connector: The molded connector that the UV lamp plugs into.

Controller: The electronic module that supplies power to the lamp as well as feedback information of the status of the UV system (syn. ballast, power supply)
