Ridgemoor Bed & Breakfast is nestled on a 90-acre woodlot about 45 minutes east of Toronto. Knowing that water quality could be a concern to guests, the owners had a UV water purification system installed early on. As the B&B business flourished, health inspectors requested they install an NSF-certified water purification system.

A VIQUA Pro10 water purification system installed to ensure the safety of their tap water. But while they were confident the water was safe to drink, they grew tired of the nuisance alarms caused by fluctuations in water flow. They were calling their plumber, Lloyd Laidman of Laidman Plumbing, for maintenance on the system every couple of weeks.

“It didn’t really matter if they were Pro 10s or anybody else’s UV system. Nobody seemed to have come up with a cure for the issues,” Lloyd said. Despite the issues they’d experienced with the Pro10, when Lloyd heard about the new Pro10 with flow meter, the only NSF-certified system available with real-time dosing, he immediately recommended they upgrade their system.

After installing the new VIQUA Pro10 with flow meter, Lloyd says nuisance alarms were virtually eliminated. This has led to easier maintenance issues and greater confidence that the water at the B&B was safe for all uses, at all times.

“(Before the Pro10 with flow meter) they were having all kinds of issues keeping UVs functioning properly due to the high flows/low flows,” Lloyd explained. “And then we converted them to this system without issue. And it solved all kinds of issues at that site. The B&B owner is very pleased.”
