The Acacia Hotel is a five-star Hotel located in Manila, Philippines. Similar to many other hotels, they use a chiller system with cooling towers to provide cool air for the entire hotel. Hard water mineral scale build-up on the heat exchanger has traditionally been cleaned with chemicals. The Hotel group was looking for an eco-friendly solution that could possibly help alleviate the dependency on using chemicals and came across the Vulcan anti-scaling solution.

After 6 months of installing the Vulcan descaler our cooling towers remained clean and some of the stock- up and passing valves are now usable. The condenser approach values and condenser tubes are significantly cleaner and there has been a significant decrease on our chillers’ condenser approaches.

Chief Engineer: “The results are positive. We have found the performance results of the unit to work well and as described.” We are now able to descale our heat exchangers without using chemicals because of the Vulcan device.
