* Sizing an appropriate mineral descaler model/s is a combination of the building’s primary use, diameter of the water pipes where the mineral descaler will be installed, and the anticipated water flow. Other variables such as building height, square footage and supporting equipment (boilers, heat exchanges, cooling tower, etc.) also play a role in developing a holistic descaling plan to lower energy consumption and extend equipment and piping infrastructure lifespans.
Note: to offer a general mineral descaling model sizing plan for the building classifications below, assumptions were made for pipe diameter, number of floors, building size, etc. A final installation plan for your specific building may require more or fewer installed models.

R0 – Special Condominium
(Billing Lot)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Installing multiple mineral descalers in different parts of the building will help to descale water pipes and other support equipment as water moves in and out building owner equipment and tenant supported appliances. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

R1 – Condo Residential Unit
(2-10 Unit Building)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Placing additional mineral descalers on the secondary water pipe that provides a building level with water will have a stronger descaling benefit. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

R2 – Condo Residential Unit
(Walk-Up Building)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Assuming this building type is 3 stories tall, accommodating approximately 12 units with a centralized boiler. It would be advantageous to install a stronger mineral descaler for the pipe diameter. This will support all the building equipment (boiler, pumps, etc) and extend descaling benefits to the other tenant units. |

R3 – Condo: Residential Unit
(1-3 Story Building)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Assuming this type of building is occupied by one family occupying a 1-3 story building. Using the V5000 model will be typical. Installing another model (V3000 or v5000) on the hot water pipe would only show benefit s in helping to keep hot water area cleaner for longer intervals (shower, bathtub, sinks, etc) |

R4 – Condo: Residential Unit
(Elevator Building)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: This installation strategy considers a building type that does not have a centralized boiler to supply condo apartments with hot water. Each condo unit has independent water heaters. One significantly larger mineral descaler is placed on the primary water pipe to descale all basement/ street level equipment, and to create an exceptionally strong descaling benefit for all the pipes throughout the building. Tenants can then choose to install residential models (V3000 or V5000) for their apartment, if required. |

R5 – Commercial
Miscellaneous
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Attempting to use 1 or 2 larger mineral descalers in a high-rise commercial building to prevent mineral deposit build-up in pipes and support equipment will not produce desired result. It is better to use multiple mineral descaling units in strategic locations. This includes mechanical rooms, near specific equipment and individual units to support 1-3 stories. |

R6 – Condo: Residential Unit
1-3 Unit Bldg-Orig Class 1
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: One strong mineral descaler can be used to support this type of residential building. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

R7 – Condo: Commecial
1-3 Unit Bldg-Orig Class 1
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: One strong mineral descaler can be used to support this type of building. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

R8 – Condo: Commercial Unit
2-10 Unit Bldg.
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Installing a strong mineral descaler on the main cold water line will support the majority of this building type. Another mineral descale may be necessary to support upper levels (example: 2 inch support water pipes- install: S25 or S50) |

R9 – Co-Op
(Within A Condominium)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Due to the high demands for water in residential high-rise buildings, using one large descaler model to pipe diameter solution will not be effective. Positioning a descaler on the main water pipe entering the building and then spreading out smaller descalers to support specific equipment and each building level is a stronger installation strategy. This example also considered that each condo unit has an independent water heater. |

RA – Cultural, Medical, Educational, Etc.
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Additional descalers may be required based on the building’s square footage, height, cooling tower, chillers, heat exchange, etc usage. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RB – Office Space
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: This type of building will have commercial and residential water, cooling and heating demands. Instead of trying to support the entire building with 1 or 2 primary descalers; a better installation strategy is to use a combination of smaller and larger mineral descaler models. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RG - Building Class
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: This type of building has indoor parking available. If gaining access to secondary pipe lines is not possible due to a pipe lines positioned behind walls and in tight crawl spaces; installing larger descales in the mechanical room supply and return water lines will be necessary. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RH - Hotel, Boatel
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: A high-rise hotel installation will mimic the same type of installation strategy as a high-rise apartment building because the water demands are similar. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RK - Retail Space
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: If this type of building uses a centralized boiler, installing an additional descaler on the upper half of the high-rise of the hot water pipe would be necessary to extend the descaling benefits in additional hot water piping. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RP - Outdoor Parking
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Depending on the building use will determine an appropriate installation plan. Example: an office building at a residential / hotel building of the same size. The residential / hotel building will require additional mineral descalers because the water demands are greater. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RR - Condo Rentals
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Smaller mineral descalers (V3000 or V5000) can be used for each apartment instead of using a larger descaler to support each level. |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RS - Storage Space
(Non-Business)
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: A storage space water demands would be very low. Using a mineral descaler would primarily be used to support specific building equipment (cooling tower, pumps, etc) with possible benefits to support secondary water line (sprinkler systems, toilet facilities, etc) |
• Apartment Building Studies |

RT - Terraces, Gardens, Cabanas
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Supporting mineral descaling efforts localized to terraces, gardens, and cabanas would only require the use of 1 mineral descaler. However, if the building has incorporated our mineral descalers, using an additional descaler to support terraces, gardens, and cabanas areas would be unnecessary. |

RW - Warehouse, Factory, Industrial
Mineral Descaling Models: |
Installation Considerations: Depending on the function and purpose for this industrial space using one mineral descaler will be enough to support the space (toilet facilities, general water flow throughout the building, etc) |
